The Grad Lab is RISC’s transdisciplinary programmatic offering for graduate students working on social justice issues through community engagement. The Grad Lab offers graduate students hands-on experience in field philosophy and class-based training in BIPOC-led methods in CBPR work. We focus on student skill development, co-learning, process improvement, and logistical support for community organizations.
The 2023 cohort is currently full. Applications for the AY 2024-2025 cohort will be available early Spring 2024.

Sara’s House is a is an Black women-run 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting parents, pregnant people, and youth in Metro-Detroit who are experiencing homelessness or unstable housing due to domestic violence, sexual abuse, divorce/separation, low incomes, or poverty. Sara’s House specializes in providing culturally specific services to women and children, and especially focus on supporting pregnant or young Black mothers and parents.
